Tweedles

I've always had a thing for nicknames. They're fun. And special nick names for special people make that person all the more dear. So, our kids have MANY nicknames, each. All their names are something special. Like, I'm the only one who calls Annalise Anya anymore and John is the only one who calls her Sunny.

Sean is Sean a mon (which we stole from a Norwegian friend who called their son the same ending with a different first name - apparently it's "the man" or something similar and I have NO idea how it's actually spelled because we just use it as a verbal thing). We also call him Grumpy Cat because he does this thing with his brows and his mouth when he doesn't like something you said and he looks just like the grumpy cat memes on Facebook (minus the fur, whiskers, coloring and... well, cat part) and we stole PPP Paaatrick from Lutheran Satire because it ALWAYS makes him make the Grumpy Cat face and his middle name is Patrick.

Ian has a plethora of nicknames - Abang (because he is THE big brother - it's Malay) is the most commonly used.

Angus gets Jac(k) because his initials are JACC, but we don't use that much (yet), We also call him Happy, and Jolly, and AAAAAAANNNNGUUUUSSSSS! He knows his name but he won't quite say it yet so we draw it out to get him to say it, and it stuck!

But, the Tweedles, that's the most commonly heard one. "Ian, can you get the tweedles?" "Tweedles, It's your turn to wash the dishes!" "Tweedles! Go outside and play!"

See, interestingly enough, they might never have ended up with this name had we not accepted the appointment to be missionaries!

Annalise and Thad are the Tweedles. On one of the early trips in the car of the some 22,000 miles that the whole family traveled from 18 June - 23 Dec for our support building we looked back to the 3rd row of the car and just Thad and Annalise were sitting back there in a sort of cave they made. They had a Barbie and a Bionicle and they were battling. That was it. Two Tweedle Beetles battling in a puddle in a bottle. Ever since they've been the Tweedles (not Tweedle Dum and Tweedle Dee - although they like to argue over which one is which). I call them Tweedle Girl and Tweedle Boy. They like to say they're Tweedle One and Tweedle Two. But they are most certainly Twiddles. They may be 2 ½ years apart in age, but they act like twins. Always together - He will even play dress up with her willingly. Often battling (usually in good fun). But they don't separate for long!

Now... If I was a REALLY good blogger, I'd have pictures to go with this.... but I'm awful about figuring out how to get pics off my phone since the new installs so, sorry, you'll have to wait till I figure it out. But, now you know who the Tweedles are!
