This past week we were blessed to be able to attend Doxology for missionaries. Doxology is the brainchild of Rev Dr John Kleinig, Rev Dr Hal Senkbeil, and Dr Beverly Yahnke. It was created as a means of providing spiritual and psychological care for those who care for the rest of us. Doxology is an LCMS Recognized Service Organization (RSO) that the leadership at OIM decided would be of as much benefit for the missionaries as it is for pastors.

Sean enjoyed the opportunity to Acolyte for a couple of services
What it did was provide us with spiritual and practical tools to manage stresses we will certainly encounter in the mission field and now as we spend our time preparing for the field and support network building. We also had a welcome chance to reconnect witother LCMS missionaries from our orientation and strengthen relationships that we will rely upon when deployed. Most Sundays we are presenting at a different church, during a bible study. We have recently realized this means that we have only been able to attend a few bible studies since we began building our network. During our time at Doxology we were able to attend Vespers, Matins, and Divine service in addition to the very meaty scriptural counseling received from Dr Senkbeil.

Annalise loved attending services, even as Elsa.

We also had a welcome chance to reconnect with other LCMS missionaries from our orientation and strengthen relationships that we will rely upon when deployed. The next time we are likely to see our fellow missionaries will likely be in the mission field. It was rather bittersweet to see especially the Africa missionaries as we'll all get to see each other more regularly. Please pray for their safe travels both here in the States and as they deploy.

Thursday was faceprint day. Annalise opted to be Elsa.
